Start Reloading! – Let’s pray together!

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18: 19-20”

The concept of free time has gotten completed reevaluated since Vince was born. For most of the time we are together night and day, because he requires special attention, education and care. But this also means that weariness shows up in my life often and fairly intensively. And ‘weariness’, as we know it well, is a bad advisor. You try to organize everything from home, but you keep shrinking, because you miss out on the theatre, meeting with friends, all in all, contact with the outside world. Of course I can ask for help and get away from home for an hour or two if I go alone, but this is very difficult to manage, because it is a question of trust, expertise, and many times money as well. I have learned to manage my time differently, and amongst the things I can do from home the greatest achievement comes from praying with other moms. I am thankful for having such an amazing blessing that after forty years of spiritual searching now my childhood best friend is my prayer partner. God is great, He can only be called upon with a prayer coming straight from the heart, and He can hardly wait to pour out His grace and blessings to us.

If you would like to experience what kind of cure God has in store for you and you have no one to pray with, I will be happy to be your partner over the phone. I know this sounds very strange right now, but as parents, we often find ourselves in situations when we are not enough for the solution. Perhaps you think upon reading these words that ‘five minutes of prayer cannot help me, because my child is so ill that I am happy if he/she lives to see another day.’ I know how you feel, we have had tough situations in our lives, and I am sure there will be more, but through God’s grace I found peace and a life filled with blessings.

You can say these are only meaningless words, so I will share a story with you: We once were in the hospital again with Vince, because he was very weak and needed oxygen. The doctors saw that Vince needed a breathing machine that at nights circulates air through his left lung as well, because his chest deformity was so severe, there was less than a half an inch room between his spine and ribs. We still had about three months until the correctional surgery for his chest, and this is also about the time it takes to handle the administration for a breathing machine in Hungary. One of my friends visited me in the hospital, and I told her we were in an emergency. I asked her to pray with me, so Vince could get the breathing machine as soon as possible. It was December 20th, so everyone was getting ready for Christmas. It seemed like an impossible mission to get Vince the breathing machine within a week or two. We sat down in the hallway of the hospital and we prayed, while children getting treated in pediatrics were running around us and nurses were pushing carts with lunch trays. Then two days later God showered us with His blessings: between Christmas and New Year’s they called us in for sleep therapy, and the next day we met with the chief physician who then organized for us to have the breathing machine during the first week of January. You should know that the waiting list for sleep therapy is normally three months, then comes the evaluation of the results, getting in touch with the engineering company, then fixing an appointment when the chief physician has enough time to visit us in our home personally to calibrate the machine according to Vince’s parameters. I am thankful dear God that you never leave us alone!

If you would like to try and see how prayer fills you up again with vitality and brings blessings into your life, catch somebody and pray together. If you cannot find anybody, please write to me and I will call you for a prayer together. Believe me, this call would have sounded very strange to me too if someone had said it a year ago. But by now God has brought certainties into our lives, and without them our journey would be very difficult. God never forsakes us, because His love is boundless. Write to me and let’s pray together!

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29
